Amazing B-29 Superfortress photo

World War 2 bomber flies
right under the Moon

I almost didn't even look up when I heard the rumble of a plane. My job for the day was shooting photos of anglers at the Bassmaster Eastern Open on Lake Chickamauga, and I was watching the tournament leader to ensure I didn't miss any action.

But a quick glance revealed this wasn't just any airplane: It was a vintage B-29 Superfortress lumbering across the sky above me.

So I pointed my Nikon 300mm lens up and started shooting — and then the most fantastic thing happened.

The old bomber flew directly under the moon.

My favorite frame from the series of shots was the one above, which shows the B-29 Superfortress and the moon in line. The details of the moon really add to the overall look of the print.

The amazing photo is available for purchase in my gallery, and would make a wonderful gift for any military junkie. Just click below to see print options, including archival paper prints, fine-art paper prints, canvas gallery wraps, acrylic prints, amazing metal prints and more!
