I just returned from a trip to Wisconsin to cover the Bassmaster Central Open tournament, and I had to drive through the Minnesota farm country from the airport. And what an amazing trip it was, allowing me the opportunity to take a short side trip to search out old barns.
My time was limited, but a drive around the farming town of Zumbrota, Minnesota, turned up five beautiful old barns.
These amazing structures are still largely in use, with many belonging to Amish farmers. They are wonderful examples of Midwest farm life.
And the fields were planted in silage adorned with yellow hassles that set off the barns beautifully. The setting provided the opportunity to create beautiful images of each structure.
Prints off all the images are available in various sizes and media, including fine-art prints, metal prints, canvas gallery wraps and acrylic prints.
