A pothole has formed in the rock ledge just outside of Sabbaday Falls, which is one of the beautiful waterfalls found along New Hampshire's Kancamagus Highway. Potholes are formed as water swirls pebbles and sediment in a circle. Eventually larger rocks settle in the pothole and accelerates the abrasion when flood waters sweep through the hole, forming smooth walls and deepening the hole.
