I wanted to shoot the first sunrise and sunset of 2021, so I was in the gorgeous Henderson Swamp well before daybreak. After capturing some photos of a simply beautiful sunrise, I turned around to see this cypress tree literally glowing in the morning light. The foliage, which remained in autumn colors, were simply stunning. So I composed this photo to make it the star of the show, using the clouds to create great contrast.
