Standing on this overlook in Watkins Glen State Park is almost a spiritual experience. Peace simply washes over you as you watch the waterfalls in the deep gorge. A terraced waterfall leads to one of the pool beneath a foot bridge, and the veiled waterfall to the left is known as Rainbow Falls because you can walk behind it and see rainbows late in the afternoon on sunny days. A footpath snakes along Glen Creek for just 2 miles, but in that distance there are 19 waterfalls and myriad glen pools.
Because it is located in a deep gorge, full sunlight never reaches some areas. Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the New York finger lake parks. It is located on the edge of Seneca Lake, one of five finger lakes in Upstate New York. Prints of this amazing photo are available as archival prints, metal prints, canvas gallery wraps and acrylic prints.
